Its been a few months now and we haven't heard anything from the devs about the 1.06 update yet! Is Raft being abandoned? I heard rumors the 1.06 update is gonna contain islands, boats, new tools. Of course adding all those things is going to make this update take a little longer than normal bug fix updates, but 1.05 contained a whole bunch of new amazing features and it only took I think 1 month for it to go live (after 1.04). Anyone know why the 1.06 update is taking so long?
I can't help but notice that it's been about a month since the last time the Devs posted on these forums. I really hope that they haven't given up on this game, especially since I only just started playing it a few days ago. lol Although, if I understand correctly, the Devs are college students, so they may just be super busy with class, right now. Midterms, maybe?
Pretty much. Raft first appeared around October of last year and they jammed multiple versions out before getting to 1.0 around December/January. Pretty good when you look at the prototype they started from. After the initial release they were back in school and except for the day/night update, it's been pretty quiet. They'll probably be a release hopefully in spring break then it'll probably go dark until summer again.
This is an amazing game, but I just cant play it because you hit a wall so early on into the game because of the lack of content. It has the begining of a top game, but it needs more stuff to make it worth it. I think this game should follow a subnortica kind of idea, where you are stranded from a ship wreak, but the game just lacks its own story at the moment.
