By default the first controller is assigned to player 1. I haven't been able to switch that behavior in the game itself. I can do it in the editor but I had to make a choice between one or the other knowing either of these might become an issue for some people. I'm looking into if there's a work around but would like to know what kind of controller you're using, first.
