Obtaining updated versions? And supporting the creator.

Real quick, let me say that this game is fantastic so far, please keep up the great work!

I've not been on this site too long, so am wondering about after updates to the game how to get the update applied to my existing game files? Do I need to download the .zip again from the main page? If so, that kinda sucks since it would mean starting over again right? Excuse my ignorance, I'm fairly new to this site and game so maybe that's not the case.

Either way, as I said, this game is fantastic! I hope you're able to continue, and last question here. Are we able to support the creator? It would be great to keep development on this game rolling and even help expedite it.

Thanks for the read!

Hi Tingid, when I updated from v17 to v18 I did not lose anything so you should be ok. Just look for the latest patch and download, I think that's what I did ;-)

Developer

Hi Tingid, I’m glad you are enjoying the game so far. You’re question already got answered but I figured I’d repeat it just in case you wanted assurance from the dev. The game patches every Friday, unless I have some weird issue. In order to get the new version of the game just go to the game’s page and download the version you need. Once you have the new version you can delete the old one. Your save files are stored elsewhere on your computer so deleting the zip folder / extracted folder won’t effect them.

There is a patching system in place so you shouldn’t lose your save between patches. I do feel compelled to put an asterisk on this however. The game is in alpha at the moment and the patching system is likely not perfect. With V0.18 for instance we had a few questing issues. But bar any oddities your save data should remain intact between patches.

As far as support goes while I do like money, I currently have donations on itch disallowed. Maybe I’m old fashioned but I don’t really feel right taking money for a product this incomplete. Once the game reaches beta it will have a price tag associated with it, but until then my plan is to just keep it free.
