Hey everyone! Please post your feedback here. I want to update this project but since I didn't get much feedback when I released I was very lost as to what to do.

Thank you.

Very much enjoying the game, I picked it up from the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality. The concept is really fantastic! Combining tower defense with deck building was a seriously great idea. I'd love to see more card types added, more elements, more effects, perhaps even cards that allow you to place special tower types instead of just the basic element-less type? I think encouraging deck themes would be a good idea, rewarding people for building certain kinds of deck (like effect cards which can only be applied to towers with certain elements, or cards which have their effects altered by having a larger/smaller deck, etc), as right now there is not a great deal of strategy in building the deck itself.

UI needs a number of changes, a lot of numbers are just "floating" on the screen or on cards, and for some numbers it's hard to immediately tell what they do (hand size for instance). The symbol beside the player's mana and beside each card's cost was a nice intuitive way of indicating what the number was used for. The buttons for changing the speed of the game certainly need to be smaller, and again are just "floating" on the screen. Would be useful to use number keys to adjust the game speed too! Incoming wave information can be quite useful but it's tucked away out of sight, I think this should be made more compact and always visible. The camera controls are a little clunky, but they are certainly manageable. Also, something to show/change how each tower determines what enemy to prioritise would be quite beneficial.

Really looking forward to seeing how the project gets updated in the future!

Thanks for the feedback, Min26. I think I saw your name on my stream today. I've thought about your ideas before and while they are good - I don't know a way to solve those issues. The deck theming, definitely, special towers, more elements, definitely too. But a lot of those things require new models, effects, and ideas beyond the starter idea! I'm definitely open to hearing more suggestions from you, or basically if you have deeper thoughts about those ideas I will try to implement them.

Hey!

This is the first game I picked up from the Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality so far. I'm a huge TD fan and still play sometimes the classics in WC3. No wonder I immediately searched through the Bundle to pick up a TD game. And no, this was not the first this kind I stumbled on, but it sounded like a fun concept to me.

I think the concept delievers, I felt reminded of Elemtal Tower TD for instance. While playing I failed some rounds to get used to the gameplay (some would call it "learning"). The tutorial needs some extention obviously. But then it started to hook me. I cought myself studying Deck concepts to takle some of the harder waves etc.

UI and presentation feels like it's not finished yet, which you also stated as such. So no problem for me so far. But those two things might need the most rework.

Long time motivation will surely increase with the number of cards. But different modes or card drafting mechanics might as well. For instance, I'm a huge fan of deck building or deck drafting games.

I'm trying to get myself updated on the projects progress, because I hope you'll find time to make the gem out of it which it should be!

Thanks for the feedback. I might hire a designer to help with the UI, it seems like everyone hates it! Lol

I played your game and did a video on it. I compiled a list of suggestions at the end of the video as well as go through my thoughts throughout. Hopefully you find it useful. I like the idea of this game. It reminds me of Slay the Spire and hope to see this game continue to improve. It's got the potential to be great.

I think this is a great game idea! I love deck building and tower defense games, so i was really excited to try this one. It already has a lot going for it in terms of originality especially, in my opinion.

a couple things i would love to see in the future (if, of course, you want to implement them):

-when trying to get a better view of the layout (i like seeing top down for this kind of thing) turning the view shifted what area of the map i was able to see on screen. Perhaps implement a "lock" so that when tilting the map for a better view, it stays centered on the middle of the map?

-it could be very useful to implement pop ups when you hover over certain items, like when your mouse is over the deck a reminder of how many cards are in there, and how much mana it costs to draw. or hovering over an enemy and a pop up says that enemy's name and elemental alignment. a pop up over a tower with a brief description of its power would be nice too.

-DEFINITELY add a more in depth tutorial level, guiding the player step by step through a level. this will help familiarize them with gameplay and cut back on frustration. While the game is relatively simple, this is still helpful especially for players who may be new to this kind of game. maybe make it optional for those that want to jump in?

-visually showing the range of the towers would be very helpful (like a circle of range when you select the tower)

-Honestly, I would also give the corridors a little more space, to show off the character models and the tower effects better.

These are just a few suggestions to make the game more user friendly, which i would suggest prioritizing above new cards or things like that. While the variety would be really fun, if the game feels clumsy to play people may be less inclined to stick with it. I think there's a lot of potential here!

Thank you. I do agree this game has lots of potential! There's actually a range indicator when you click towers though!

D: somehow I didn't see it?! Embarrassing!

I appreciate your comment though. This game was and is still a passion project, but since it really didn't get much attention I stopped development.

There's a bug with the attack speed. It seems that the higher my attack/s get, the slower the towers actually attack. When I stopped believing what the info said and threw the attack speed upgrade out of my deck the game suddenly got a lot easier.
