Windows version crashing randomly

The game has crashed twice now at different points in the game, both on the first level. I don't remember the first crash, but the second was in the mausoleum.

Settings (other than defaults)

  • Music off
  • Plain text on sidebar
  • Tutorial messages on

The first time it crashed, I also had smooth camera turned off, but turned it on in case that was the issue. I lasted longer at least?

Could you post the crash logs or send them to me at contact -at- weirdfellows.com? They should be in C:\Users(YourUserName)\AppData\Roaming\possessionroguelike\

It doesn't look like any crash logs saved. Or if they did, they expired? (If that's something that happens.) If it crashes again, I'll check for them right away though.

Weird. You're on v13, right?
Was there a blue screen with an error when it crashed or did it just crash to desktop?
Also, are there save files that were autosaved when it crashed? (They'll be called something like CharacterName-error-2020-03-01 13-30-56.sav)

Yep! And went straight to desktop.

No error save files either, sorry. :( Just my save from before it crashed. I'll send that one via email cuz there's no option to attach a text file here.

Edit: I do wanna say though I really like the game!

Let me ask you this, to confirm a suspicion I have:
Have you seen a popup for any achievements received? And if not, can you check out the game stats page and see if there are any achievements it says you've received?

I got a  blue screen error when I went to check my achievements. Wild, alright. Here it is:

I released a new update that should fix the achievements crashes, anyway.

Messing around with your save file I couldn't get any silent crashes to occur, though. Do you happen to remember what you might have been doing or what might have happened soon before the crashes? Your save file was on level 3, were they any more/less frequent on any of the levels?

I think it only happened once per level, but it did happen every level. The only thing I can think of is I was usually reading longer bits of text on the screen, like the flavor text for monsters.
