I have just made a  2d platformer soo far and I wanted to make a first person 2D game for this Jam similar to the Original DOOM. I don't see much tutorials online on this. Could someone tell me how viable it is for a newbie to attempt this. Any tips and resource would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend it if you want to make it for the jam. It's significantly harder to make a first person game than a 2d platformer game. You would have to learn 3d even if the sprites are all in 2d, because the game takes place in 3d space.
