Welp you can just open the save data, find gold\food\exp and change it.
Also I would not advise to change anything beside the food. 

Game is kinda "all over the place in sense of balance" so it will actually make the game worse. But food economy is already bad as it is, so you can change it.

High level or money will grant you free pass on some trials and battles BUT they won't actually make game more interesting. You will be able to hit something once and it will bleed to death next turn. but it'll never add any spice to a game.
