One of the things that made me fall in love with Warhammer 40.000 (from who Space Knights owes a big part of its inspiration) were the "Thoughts of the day" and the many text boxes in its ruleset containing grim quotes or briefs descriptions of the setting even if they had little to do with the battles. I have found that these text boxes are great ways of breaking the wall of text and they make a great deal to create the right atmosphere for the game in a similar way as images but easier to create.
I have been creating a long list of these and will add them in the ruleset of Super Space Knights with a little heading like this.
And here are some quotes. I have many more adapted from different sources (games, books, historical figures...):

Those are nice. I like the first one specially as it's very epic, reminds me of 300.
Back in the uni days, I had this friend in my ttrpg group who always had edgy characters (assassins and the like with sunglasses and wearing black) and always speaking in grim quotes from comics and songs. His best achievement was in Shadowrun when his street samurai (sunglasses, black leather jacket and trousers) got shot by like five guns with explosive ammunition, the GM got lucky with the dice and the poor character got damage to die three times. The Player took it with philosophy and asked for some last words which were:
-I have stopped them all.
We all burst into laughter and applause.
XDDDD!!!
In my groups there was this lovely tradition of writing in the back of the character sheet the best quotes of its player. Of course, it was the rest of the table the ones to decide what to write there.
Oh yes. When you put together a game and a bit of booze things can go really bizarre. Just with "famous last words" I could write a book.
