For the next semester, My team and I were able to prepare by discussing and making a prototype of our game, we went through many ideas and I believe that we finally settled on one that we feel works. For my roles, I had written out a backstory for the game with my team and will be writing barks starting next semester for the enemies. Since we all agreed on an idea, we had to switch to 3D instead of 2D. During the Christmas break, I need to research and practice doing 3D modeling as I have not done it since last year. We still need to discuss what kind of look we are going for. Lastly, I will be doing the same for sound, I would love to create foley sound effects that can be implemented into the project and will be researching sound design-related things over the break.
To prepare myself for next semester, I will be following the schedule that we created with all the tasks that needs to be completed. I don't know how the next semester will be with the workload but I want to dedicate a day to working on the project when I can as well as having more meetings whether it's in person or online. Just to keep up to date with what everyone is doing on the project.

Best of luck with 3D modeling! A neat trick you can use is that the model doesnt need to have all the detials and you can easily fake them in the textures so it looks more detialed than it actually is. Good luck!
Hopefully moving into 3D ends up being the right decision! Moving perspectives like that can be a big undertaking so hopefully you all have begun scheduling all your required tasks for next semester. From the sounds of things you will be wearing many hats so I wish you the best of luck bridging all those different facets of the project. I find that kind of situation to be fun because you get to put your own touches on so many aspects of the builds. Good luck next semester!
I hope the 3D learning process well go smooth for you. It's still quite difficult to fully grasp my mind around 3D modelling, especially when put in a game environment where it needs rigging and animations. You sound like you're dabbling in quite a few roles for this project, so I hope that scheduling has gone (and will go) easy for you. Being able to properly set time aside for work is very important, and I hope it all works out for you! Excited to see what you make!
