True v2 Updates for Retro Cybercity Street Characters

Just updated the Retro Cybercity “Street Characters” sprite pack to the v2 design for sprites across my assets and themes. Previously, I’d updated the Nine Realms stuff to this basic design and now I’m working my way through the Cybercity stuff. As always, I leave the old versions in the downloadable files so that people who prefer them can still use them. I may eventually end that and bring everything into line to simplify the packs.

Someday, maybe, but it is not THIS day.

New stuff is also coming. Including revamps to all my product pages, screenshots, and thumbnails. Wanna make my itch store nicer and more consistent. I’ve been seriously neglecting this stuff since I started out two years ago.

But also new assets. I’ve been tinkering with a release schedule for regular updates to my existing asset packs. For example, a new character or variant (a different outfit or something) in a character pack every so often. Just gotta figure out what makes sense but am currently thinking monthly basis. Tileset packs will have new props and tiles or variants added which is something I’ve been doing with Nine Realms since those were initially much smaller releases than Cybercity tilesets.

I am also aware that I promised a few types of assets ages ago and never delivered. Things like a Cybercity vehicle pack, mech and exosuit related stuff, etc were all things I’ve discussed with customers but remained unfinished.

I think I’ll be prioritizing that stuff before moving on to new packages, at least for Retro Cybercity, but we’ll see since there are other projects on the go as well. I have the Gang Character portraits half done and that’s just one example.

All of this may also mean that newer asset packs will release faster as my standards for completion can relax a bit if the intention is to add regular updates. For now I also won’t be increasing prices but that will probably happen at some point when these asset packs become significantly larger than when they started. Some are already getting there. The aforementioned Retro Cybercity “Street Characters” pack started with 28 sprites and now has 40 (incl. variants).

Anyways, I’ll also commit to trying to do more posts like this to update folks on where things are at.
