Devlog # 20: Support Queer Halloween Stories Bundle! also ive been editing scripts lol

Oh hell yeah it’s Halloween month! Since its spooky month, you should have some quality Halloween and/or horror stories made by queer people and I have the suggestion for you~!

Queer Halloween Stories Bundle 2024 is currently live! For the same price of one single 60$ AAA game, you can get over 140 games, comics, books, and more! The money raised goes straight to the devs and supporting queer art, and if 60$ is too steep there’s also a $10+ option! I’m one of the mods of the bundle and I can already tell you, there’s some really good stuff in there! The bundle runs until the 31st of October, so be sure to grab it!

Now, as for what I did, I don’t really have much to show unfortunately! I thought I would be doing some art for the Game Mockup Jam, but my brain decided to go deep into editing scripts for my longer projects. Well, admittedly there is a reason, but that’s something I’ll probably elaborate on later when I’m able to get those games off the ground.

I did draw some, but it honestly felt more like I was getting my sea legs back. If you’ve followed me for long enough, it’s not a secret that I’ve been struggling with making myself draw for art and illustration’s sake instead of drawing for a project. It’s something that’s bothered me for a while and while I’ve been working on it, I find I tend to relapse into moments where I realize I haven’t drawn anything and feel pretty terrible about it. Which, well, doesn’t help with my motivation lmao.

Anything I’ve drawn this month was more of me unwiring my brain and rewiring it knowing what I know now with my own burnout, so I don’t feel 100% on sharing it yet. I’ll still continue on with making art in the background, and maybe I’ll share my progress when I’m comfortable enough.

That’s all I really have to say lol. I love editing my writing, but unfortunately it doesn’t have much in terms of showing progress other than me going “Well yup I got 50% of that script done! Hope I can get it done by the end of next month and continue editing another story.

My dayjob has given me more shifts for the upcoming month so chances are what I’ll be able to do is not much either. With the holidays coming up, luckily I’ll be making enough cash to support my bills because my line of dayjob needs more hands on deck in the winter, but I still want to make a commission sheet just in case. We’ll see how much energy I’ll have…

And again, be sure to support the Queer Halloween Stories Bundle! Bundles like this have helped me a ton with finances when my dayjob decides to not give me enough hours, and I know I’m not the only one who needs the support. Supporting the bundle helps devs and artists and writers keep doing what they love, so I and many others would really appreciate you supporting the bundle by purchasing it or spreading the word about it!

Thank you so much for reading, and I’ll see you all in the next month~!
