WOAH IM SO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's an Animal Crossing Playlist to distract you from that.
Okay lets get to business.
Last month's goals:
1. Finish walk anims for 5 NPCs!
2. Start thinking about Camera code to deal with *gestures to the mess in Unity* that.
3. Fix Butterblue's textoverlap issue in the Extras screen.
HAHA! Hmm. Nope! I got about halfway through two of the NPCs so all together lets say I got 1 done.
Well I did more than just start thinking, I actually managed to finish the code!
(not the camera code but behind object show-er code :) )
OOPS! Nope I did not fix this yet. Honestly the reason I haven't pushed out a fix for this is because the code there is a mess. I have the segment in a giant textbox with an overlying images. Now the images are controlled by a canvas scaler and I thought the text was too, but turns out its more complicated than that. (OF COURSE IT IS *sobbing*)
What I really ought to do is to convert it from a single scrolling textbox instead to pages that you flip through. But that's a lot of work!
So... to be honest... I'm still kinda avoiding working on that for right now.
I have this vision in my brain that once I finally make a unity game without any of these annoying frustrating canvas scaler issues -- once I genuinely truly understand how it works -- i'll go back and fix all my older games in one fell swoop.
This might be a bit of a pipe dream, but I am a bit hesitant to reopen up the guts of that game without 10000% knowing how to fix it. (and i just did another quick google search to see if theres some easy thing im missing and the answer is NO hahahahaha, Unity why are you LIKE THISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS)
Well, I managed to do one of my three things so at least I didnt get a 0!%! But I did do quite a lot of work this month!
I made not one, not two, but THREE minigames in my Mokemon game!!!!
I even made custom card decks for the solitaire minigame :)
I did quite a lot of programming this month because I started bringing my laptop to do some coding at lunch. It's really picked up my progress! I think I'll continue to do this in the future. :D
So that's it for November, what's my goals this month?
Yes, that's right. I want to release some sort of demo thing at the end of this month. My plan is to only have the page up for a weekend/week/idk a limited amount of time. It won't be anything near a 'full game' or anything but more like a little sampler. It's my way of saying "HEY IM ACTUALLY WORKING ON SOMETHING I SWEAR" and also to get a feel for how this game plays on other people's computers. The idea is there is a festival in Easten (the town you've been seeing screenshots of ) and you walk around and do three minigames and then you "win"! Yay! That's it!
Will I be able to make it? I sure hope so. I've been really wanting to release something recently.
Wish me luck!!!

Reading: The Lost City of Z - David Grann -
I have a confession. I have a morbid fascination with missing and dead explorers. I don't know why. Maybe it's that universal call of the wild? Anyway, this book was great. It had that mystery and turn of the century adventurous quality to it, but it also had modern sensibilities to say, "You know, this is pretty fucked up!!!". If you, like me, enjoy reading about dead explorers, I highly recommend this book! The rainforest is seriously scary, y'all. Nature really will outlive us all.
