Is result system fair?

Hi all,

I just saw the result list and I'm wondering if the rating system is fair. I think is strange that some games with so few ratings get higher position than games with a lot of ratings and reviews. Is not the same 5 stars with only 2 votes than 50 votes with a range between 3 to 5 stars.

The system is not balance enough. The number of positive ratings should count, not only the average value.

What do you think?

Yea. I think for the public rating ranking should be decided in one of the following way.

Method 1: Select From 20 Top Most Rated

From Top 20 most rated game. Pick the one with highest rating.

--------------------------------------

Method 2: Power Rate count

When rate count increases. That mean the result is more trustable and accurate. But doesn't mean the game is better.

Therefore, this formula only using rate count amplifies the result.

Final score = {score / 5 +0.5} ^(1+ (rate count/100))

Case A: 5 stars rated with total 9 ratings.

Final score = (1.5)^(1.09) = 1.556

Case B: 5 stars rated with total 90 ratings

Final score = (1.5)^(1.9) = 2.16

Case C: 2.3 stars rated with total 200 ratings

Final score = (2.3/5 +0.5)^(3) = 0.884

And you can see,

The winner is the 5 stars game with 90 rating.

Which is pretty Fair to me.
