Funny game ! It reminds me the meme where someone turn off the light and run into his bedroom to run away the monster haha

Developer

Yeah that was the main inspiration haha, glad someone noticed it. I originally wanted to add more emphasis to the meme by adding things like blinking eyes in the dark or something like that but the time didn't allow for it unfortunately. Thanks for playing!

Nice job! I think the concept is interesting, but just not for me. I gave up on the last level. I think it would be an improvement if certain furniture slowed you down rather than stopping you. For example, maybe the bed and couches can be slowly climbed over whereas stuff like tables and the TV stop you. Nonetheless, this is definitely a good entry and creative take on the theme :)

Overall great game! The six levels offered a good amount of difficulty, it was great for a first completed game jam!

I think there are two things that would make the game more fun. Primarily, the collisions were wonky and somewhat frustrating to work with, as it means you need to wiggle your way through areas. Adjusting the collision boxes to be more uniform and with round edges should fix this.

Secondly, some audio and music would be nice in a game where vision is limited. It would be cool if different types of furniture had different sound effects when hit. The music speeding up would also add to the tension.

It was a fun game overall, felt that it had a fun theme, interesting art style, and original idea! Look forward to you participating in more game jams :)

Very creative approach to the theme :)
I fear the fear-meter more than the character is feared :P

I really liked the idea of this game; adding some sound when the fear meter goes up would be really cool I think. Some levels were a little irritating because, in the light, you had to fit perfectly in between the obstacles so when the lights were out I think it made it a little too challenging when the fear meter was rising quickly. I really liked how smooth the gameplay was though, good job!!

Developer

Hello! Thanks for the feedback, to be completely honest I quickly setup the colliders at the beginning of development with the intent to revise them later on but I never really did due to being overwhelmed near the end to finish up everything. I'll be sure to get them right from the get-go next time lol, thanks for playing!

Cool idea! I do wish there were more to it than just memory, but it certainly does not overstay its welcome. Needs sounds, though!

Developer (1 edit)

Hi! Thanks for the feedback, I actually did want to add something other than the memory mechanic too after play-testing a bunch at the end of the jam but by then it was too late, and as for the sound...I kinda completely forgot about that LOL.
