This is a good entry. Love the art style and the puzzles were well designed.

Developer

Thanks a lot :)

Really clever little puzzler, I really liked the art style and the bat's little bits of dialogue (like how the eyes are evil, despite many of them being the things letting him through). Really twisted my brain on that last level though. (and a great name)

Developer

Thanks for playing (I came up with the name)

One of my highest-rated games so far! The artwork is just awesome and the sounds are also great! It'd be great to have an interactive tutorial inside the game since that'd improve the experience a LOT!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! An interactive tutorial will be the first thing after the jam to be implemented ;)

I really like the concept and the way it was all presented! I feel like some of the puzzles towards the end were a tad too obtuse at least for me. I was still able to finish them but it took more trial and error than it did deductive reasoning. I think it'd def help if the game was more transparent with the player when it comes to tutorial type stuff especially when introducing new mechanics.

Overall a very enjoyable lil bat themed adventure though! And that title is very very clever that's a top tier pun right there

Thanks for your review! We are well aware, that a tuturial is needed and we will most likely add that after the voting phase of the jam ended! The same can be said about new level designs :)

Great art and very original! It was a bit difficult for me to get the puzzles, and I'm not a fan of the bat's voice, but the animations and designs are very clean.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, we are happy you liked the visuals as much as we did :P

The art style in this game was very cute and lovely ! I really enjoyed the little chirps that the bat would make, as well as the little bits of dialogue here and there. The name was super clever !! Keep up the good work :)

Creative puzzle game! I liked how you had to figure out the right configuration and order of the eyes to get through.

It did take a while for me to figure out that there were different types of eyes (I didn't read the description beforehand). It never occurred to me that your light and the throwable/place-able lights would do different things. Even once I figured it out I never realized the difference until reading the description. I think this may be due to how dark the game is overall for me since I'm not looking too closely at black on black. For the jam version, there isn't really a problem, especially since you put it in the description, and doing trial and error is short enough that there's no major issues. If this were to be expanded though, especially if levels get longer, some more in-game explanations would be needed. You could even change the shapes of the eyes to be a bit more drastic so as to be told at a glance.

All that of course could just be chalked up to user error, so don't pay it too much mind.

My favorite puzzle was level 3. There's something satisfying about using the level and eyes to your advantage to get the lightbulbs where they need to go! In the case of expansion, I'd like to see more puzzles along these lines, where you manipulate something through the eyes, rather than just lighting up the right ones in the correct order.

Great job everyone, and a solid entry to the jam!

Thanks a lot for your elaborate feedback!
If enough people enjoy our game, we definetely will improve on the in game tutorial, with a much slower start explaining each mechanic on its own. Knowing that missing an explaination might be detrimental to the fun of the game, I added a short explaination of the eyes in the description :D But like you admitted yourself, I assume most people dont bother reading past the controls, which makes the in game explaination much more needed.
Thanks for playing, we are glad you liked it :)

one of my ideas was to see in the dark and the light was just for the trigger but that didn't fit the theme as well
and thanks for spending that much timing writing that much. It had to be at least 50% of your grade.

An interesting and cool game with interesting mechanics related to the movement of light :)

Developer

Thank you :)

Soo cute! Mechanics are quite hard to get at first, maybe so clearer explanation, either in the game or on the game's page, would've helped, but good entry! <3

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! :D Since the goal and the eyes are explained, what part was hard for you to understand? :)

Such a cute character and artstyle! Didnt really get the game mechanics at first, but it got clear after some playing. Really liked it!

Developer

If only my first game jam game could have been that nice aha!

Only one advice: try to integrate (if you find the time) your tutorial to the game, it helps the player a lot a lot.

For the rest, it's fun. A bit confusing at first, but it's very interesting to try different things to lit up those eyes and open new paths!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! The first level, which is not accessible in the level selection menu, is supposed to be an easy tutorial level, but it hardly explains the mechanics. Thats gonna be the first thing I will add :D

Really nice little game. I would love to see more levels and new mechanics!

Developer

Thanks a lot, there are more ideas to discover - it wasnt possible in 7 days though :D

Submitted(+2)

Good job with this! I had fun going through the puzzles. I only wish I could have seen what was at the end or see if the bat ever escaped.

Developer(+1)

We sadly didnt have time to implement all the things we wouldve like to :D
if many people like the game, we might add things like that after the jam ;)
