Can I write my game idea beforehand?

Eh so I'm wondering if it's alright to write the idea of my game before it starts, I've been thinking about the game more and more lately but want to write it down lol.  I know most jams allow this but maybe that will be hard with the theme aspect.  Thanks

It is technically allowed but as you said it will be hard without knowing what the theme is but I guess you could always come up with a basic idea and then modify it based on what the theme is.

Thanks I sort of answered my own question while writing it once I understood that there was a theme involved lol

It is actually against the rules if you check it so you may be disqualified but really idk

with how ambiguous and unclear the rules are, there's really no way to tell if the rules dont allow brainstorming before the jam or they dont allow only the asset creation and coding of the game itself

Well I think you can brainstorm but all coding has do be done within the seven days
