This channels the energy of all those old creepy pastas and backrooms type VHS-like videos, it's very atmospheric while not being visually inaccessible (I think). I like how the game chooses to create horror, it doesn't rely on usual tropes like the presence of gore/violence or scary notes or other traditional "scares", the game is actually quite lowkey about any events that happen. The horror all just happens in your own head, in your own real-time realization, as you think you are walking one way and in Euclidean space, and then you aren't, and there's nothing going on, just that feeling of being lost, which is the scariest thing. A really neat design choice was being able to mark the walls - you'd think that makes it easier, and it does but it also lulls you into a false sense of security, because marking a wall that straight up disappears is useless, and you'll realize it sooner or later - which is what makes horror effective - you have to feel no tension and then be hit with it again for it to really stick.

(There's a chance this isn't even meant to be horror and just an atmospheric exploration game but I'm a rather jumpy person, so this is my interpretation lol)
