Was the majority of the art made by your team?
Everything including the sound effects, UI art, programming, 3d modelling was made by me, except the monster which I took from Sketchfab, link:

I cant even lie, the first jumpscare got me good! Although I was unable to progress very far, the game looks great and is genuinely terrifying. I really enjoyed the flashlight mechanic to reset the monsters and that its rechargeable. I found it difficult to manage switching between the different tasks (charging flashlight, holding elevator buttons, lighting the monsters, etc) but it was also simple to understand and very fun to play. Overall, great work!

thank you so much, it makes me really happy hearing that :)

Oh no a resource management horror game ;-; Jokes aside, this is a nice short experience! I like how it gets straight into the action and the gameplay is super intuitive, no need for an explicit tutorial! Love how you used your own voice for some of the sound effects it was charming lol. Using Unreal for 3D was a cool choice, I like the filter you used over the game. Unfortunately the game itself ran terribly on my laptop  so there was no chance I was surviving this game ;-; Despite my computer's faults, I enjoyed the experience, nice job!

I'm sorry that you weren't able to play it, but I'm really happy you liked it despite that, thanks

Hi! I'm one of the jam organizers. If you're a UNC student please let me know ASAP, because we need to know which games are eligible for prizes!

Thanks!

Unfortunately I'm not, I just wanted to participate in the jam for the fun of it

I like these "mini scary stories". But the game doesn't work. I was scared the first time all ok, but then after about 10 - 20 seconds the game crashed out and did not start again (gave an error)

Developer

I'm very sorry to hear that, i'm not sure what could give the error, were you running it on windows?

Yeah, its a virus!

Developer

which file shows that it's a virus?

Submitted(+1)

Sorry its in Finnish, but you can see the file.

Developer

I can assure you that it's not a virus. Typically, when you download something without a known publisher, Windows Defender doesn't immediately recognize it, and it might prompt you with a warning before running it. This is something I've experienced myself with my own games and others downloaded from platforms like itch.io.

When I started this game. My Windows defender said that is a virus. I remoed it and it showed me 5 diffrend trojans. I dont know if this game has a trojan or its just error.

Developer (1 edit)

when I downloaded it myself, it also says it's a virus . But maybe it probably says that cuz the publisher is unknown

I think so too
