Great! Thanks for confirming.

Sounds great. Thanks for confirming!

Hi! I'm one of the jam organizers. If you're a UNC student please let me know ASAP, because we need to know which games are eligible for prizes!

Thanks!

The jam page says:

We do have prizes, but they are only available to students enrolled at UNC Chapel Hill.

This jam is very much noncompetitive - so if you want to go for it! Experiment

:)

Glad you like the game!

That gif you attached is actually the final climb, those vines to the left bounce you across to [the end].

Thanks for point out that sprite sheet error too

Thanks!! :)

of course!

Great game!

Gotta compliment the animation. Super interesting style, and all the animation is super readable. I can tell that extra time was put into making the enemy deaths satisfying, and it was definitely worth it! Watching those enemies explode is very satisfying. Plus the intro and outro were excellent! Got a laugh out of me with the cow at the end.

I also love the little juice of the health bar flashing as it grows a chunk.

Also, it's super fun to run and gun through the enemies! Gameplay is satisfying.

Well done! You guys killed it!

Well done! There's a lot to praise here, not only is there fun gameplay but you have a impressive UI system linking scenes together — which takes a lot more effort than people realize!

I love the concept of the wildidoo, and I love the main premise of the game. Finding the meat and exploring the levels is fun. The banana maze is def my favorite level! I think the game could benefit from even more obstacles — I love how each level presents a unique twist, but I think the game is missing a sense of danger - I wish the wildidoo was chasing me, and I was getting attacked by geese or something! There's real potential for a frantic/action game here. But the exploration ended up being a lot of fun too! The maps are just big enough you feel like you get to really look around, but the levels don't drag on. That's a tough balance to strike, and you got it!

Overall, well done! Very impressive.

Fun little game! I really like how your projectile is in the opposite direction of the player's motion, it breaks convention and encourages the infinite running gameplay!

And the art is super cute and lively. I think palette consistency would help tie together all the art pieces - if the witch is holding a pumpkin candy bag, it should be a similar color to the pumpkins elsewhere.

Overall well done! Fun little scroller!

Phenomenal art, and great worldbuilding! I love the diegetic map, and the story is fun! Really well done! Polished and professional!

I love ren'py, and I found that the magic sauce to making my stories feel more immersive was incorporating music — I think if you dropped in an audio track that would really make the game come to life!

Great job!!!

(This is what Splatoon could be, if only nintendo had the balls)

Super simple, fun, and endless! I like how the player is always in motion, and I like how the balls are endless.

It's also funny how high you can jump, it's great jumping 12 feet in the air

Well done! Simple and fun!

Woah this is great stuff!!!

A ton of variety in minigames, all of them very juicy (love the squash and squish on everything!) - great art, and a unique vibe! And a ton of polish!

Well done!!!

I try to run the game, but you're missing a pepper_data folder!

When you export the game, you need to zip all the contents into one folder and upload that. I've unlocked uploads, respond to my comment if you can get a proper upload for me to try!.

Amazing setting lmao

Great story, world building, and unique gameplay! Mad props for making a 3d game, it's not easy!

Really well done! Super impressive! The art, the gameplay, the level design. Mad props! Y'all killed it!

The mechanic works super well and is clear how to use. Gameplay is fun and you use each tool in different unique ways! And a ton of really clever neat ideas here. Phenomenal! You blew me away!

Great art, good anime + limitation reference, and pretty fun gameplay!

I think maybe you could move the grow button being placed over where the enemies spawn to somewhere less in the way. Or, you could make it so you click the tree itself to grow!

Great game! Super polished and well done!

I really want to play this game!! But I'm on mac :(

Play using the standard WASD keys. We disabled arrow key movement because you need to simultaneously use the mouse for aiming.

I love how the cat obscures the screen! Simple game, but still fun!

The lofi music + rain created a great vibe.

Phenomenal art! And the rhythm game works well. At first I was like "why DFJK"? But it was a great way to play.

Rhythm games are not easy to make, especially during a jam! Props!

I got "blugeaned" to death. 10/10. 😂

Also, dialogic is just the best thing ever made. Would love to see godot natively integrate it.

Fun twist on asteroids! I like the juice, the screen shake + sounds make the game feel very satisfying.  I like the main character art too, well done!

I immediately got stuck behind the fire extinguishers 😂 the art is really nice and the music works really well. I think the inspect/activation hitbox could be bigger, sometimes it was a little finicky. Cool vibe!

The jam has ended! Incredible job everyone! Thank you to all the people who rated a lot of games.

Here's the top 3 overall games!

Again, great games everyone! Our top 3 games were all made in different countries!

Unfortunately because we have two second place winners, the host preference will have to be the tiebreaker for the 3rd place awards. Sorry, I really wish we had a big enough budget to get both of you the 2nd place prize!

Hey all!

Great job so far on voting on the games. It's awesome to see we have more than 400 ratings!! Great job everyone! Make sure to rate as many games as you can before voting ends on Sunday!

Just as a heads up for the final score reveals: the rankings will not be immediately revealed after the voting period ends. We will be looking at the results first and evaluating them for any potential suspicious activity before we release them. (example: games that have almost no comments but have a lot of ratings, or games that have a very polarized spread of bad & perfect reviews) We don't expect to have anything like that happen, but it's just a precaution we take to make sure people are playing fair! :)

Keep in mind that the end rankings ultimately do not matter at all! If you made a game, consider yourself a winner! You all learned so much during this jam.

If you win a prize, (1st-3rd place) please stay tuned to itch.io for updates! We will be asking for contact info (discord usernames or email addresses) so we can privately get your locations for prize shipping.

😎

Thank you!

Thank you!
