Wordcount for numbered lists for dice results?

Okay, so the rules for wordcount say, "Each individual number/numeral counts as a single word when used on their own," but also, "Both bullets in bullet points and numbers in a numbered list are exempt from the word count, with the former preferred over the latter to reduce confusion in word counting."

If I wrote something like

"Your car is [roll d4]

1. Red

2. Blue

3. Black

4. White"

Which rule of number usage would apply in that case?  Should I count it as thirteen words, or only nine?

According to the rules, it counts as nine words.

The first rule you cited are for numbers "used on their own", and the second rule is for numbers used in a numbered list.
