I had a hard time strategizing here. I felt like I couldn't really play too many cards in advance because I couldn't see what my opponent had and couldn't really memorize their cards because I never saw what they really played.
On the positive side, I like the art and the music. Some fade-in might have helped it be less surprising when the instruments came in, but I'm still a sucker for dynamic audio.
Well done.
I've got to be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing here. The way the meter moves around, I get the impression it might actually be tracking stats for me and the "opponent," but the tutorial seems to suggest there's only one stat and I need to make it move to the right.
It's probably a big ask for a jam game, but a little more feedback for the player would do wonders. Sometimes I drag a card to the play area and it just isn't accepted. Why? If it's because of one of the numbers on the card, I want to see that number flash or shake when the card is returned to my hand. As it is, my failed attempts to do things don't offer any clue why those things aren't working. Some kind of colour-coding might help too: I see a blue number and a red number on each card, but what do those match up with? There isn't anything else blue or red on screen as far as I can see.
In the short term, a more detailed explanation in the description would probably help people engage with this more meaningfully. What are the two card slots in the play area for, for example? I feel as though there's probably an interesting game here but I just don't have the know-how to do anything with it.
I'll also echo the other comments, I'm not sure what was going on. I managed to win one level but the next seemed to just go on for forever while I was trying to understand what was happening.
I'll echo the other comments here. Great presentation, hard to follow rules. I think I managed to beat like 70% of them without knowing what I was doing, but then I played a card and lost on turn one lol.
I'm not sure I understood the rules, but it was okay presentation-wise. The theme seemed a little hard to grasp.
The art is really great, but the rules were a little counter-intuitive and poorly explained. It took me a while to realize that I had to do nothing on the first turn and click the check mark to end my turn.
