- I get it's supposed to feel like a slog, but I think just a bit more leniency and feedback-pleasure-juice can make this really shine.

a pretty chill resource management/acquisition game with an interesting sci-fi/mystery setting, plus some subtly intriguing things going on under the surface. I liked the slow pace for a while, but it did feel a bit drawn out towards the end. on one hand, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of a climax after all that buildup (unless I missed something) — but on the other hand, the lack of any explanations or conclusions gave a certain vibe that I really enjoyed.
I like the game, feels like a modern day interpretation of motherload. I think the visual shaders help sell the world and the desolation and hostility of venus. I couldn't manage to see any weird anomaly stuff, if there is any, which is unfortunate, as you create a mysterious world for strange alien things to happen.
I think, my biggest issue was the static camera without ground reference; it does tend to get very confusing orienting your frame until you get the ground radar. The pacing of the game is also quite slow. (These are issues you are already aware of so I won't keep harping on it)
Congrats on the release!
It's a chill game with nice visuals.
I made the mistake of trying to extract one end of a chain of deposits and ran of fuel before the drone could extract the last one. I think this needs a way to interrupt and retrieve a drone early (only returning resources for the deposits that are completely finished).
I got back home 48 AU!
No idea if it's a lot or not. But it is an amount.
The gameplay is strangely soothing.
Venus seems to be very barren. Throughout my playthrough I found only 3 resource sites, and I dropped dozens of probe drones. Maybe the protagonist should be searching for gold on another planet.
Also, if the extraction drones don't find anything, they just self-destruct, and you can't collect them. I know this is so that the player has to pay in fuel to search the area, but I once I dropped an extraction drone a little but too far from the probe drone, and lost all my precious iron needed to build one. Maybe just not let players drop extraction drones in unprobed areas instead?
One more thing. The hint tells us to explore while the probe drone is scanning, but it makes no sense to do so. You can only have one dropped probe drone. And it is very foolish to risk extraction drone self-destruct by dropping it in a not scanned area. So the best course of action is to wait for the probe drone to finish (and maybe try to catch some debree)
Cool concept! but there are some things I would change though.
1. Since the ship stays in the same place its hard to get that sense of motion. I wish it would move off center of the screen and recenter when I stop moving.
2. I may have had bad luck but I found it kinda hard to find a good deposit
3. The ship model and the wind effect kinda clash. (like they are from different games)
(I also really like the deposit effect/shader)
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah tbh it aligns with my own observations, though in the case of finding good deposits it might be because the way the info is presented makes it seem like most of the deposits aren't very good even though they are. And I'm quite happy with that shader, I learned how to do it on the spot during the last few hours of the jam!
