Combing the mechanics of an FPS and gardening game was really exciting for me.

It looks great. The atmosphere and music are magnificent. The weapon model is very funny :D

I like that the weapon is used for several purposes at once. Also with berries, they can be sold, eaten and used as ammunition.

Interesting gameplay loop, you grow plants to get berries, then you need to protect the heart from underroot. At the same time, plants have roots, they can protect the heart, but will be destroyed.

But unfortunately there are several disadvantages:

1) game balance, barrymoth are too strong and can be grown from day one. I think it was necessary to make the game progression at the cost so that the player gradually tries out all the berries;

2) Underroot has a bug where they don't hit the heart. That is, you don’t even have to protect  heart and you won’t lose. They will only hit if the player walks near the heart.

Despite the disadvantages, the game is cool and deserves a high rating.

Never thought I'd see stardew valley and doom have a child. This is pretty great, too! Firing Berrymoth at the enemies never gets old. Only real complaint is it doesn't feel like the enemies ever posed much of a threat, and I didn't feel much in danger at all even later on.

Great work though! A very memorable and otherwise good entry.

Honestly this game has a ton of potential, at first i didn't even believe it was made only for this game jam since it looks very good.

But it took me very long to even realize what i was suppose to do, and even when i did it seems like the creatures attacking the heart didn't really do anything? Basically i didn't need to do anything and you never lose. I don't understand if its some bug or something since they seem to not even shoot at the heart, but at the ground above them.

Overall i rated it highly, i just wish it was more clear and there was an ending/progression/challenge to the game because as I played it right now you never lose even if you suicide to the underroot creatures.

Omg how has noone else rated this yet? I saw some dev footage of this and it’s awesome lmao. Wasn’t sure how to progress so didn’t get super far with it, but SUPER cool idea and great execution
