Aliens, fun! What engine did you do this in--was it just HTML5? I'm always impressed when someone makes a game with that!

I have a couple of suggestions about how you could improve this game. First, the different characters and props are drawn in a lot of different art styles and they're also a lot of different sizes, and some of them (especially the backgrounds) are squashed or stretched, so sometimes it looks like you're walking above the ground, etc. It would be easier to tell what's going on if all the art were the same scale and style. (Having a dedicated artist would help.)

And second, the gameplay mostly went in a straight line--usually in one room someone would give you an item, and in the next room someone would ask for it, so it was very easy to solve. It would be more fun if you mixed it up--someone in a later room could give you something that you need to go back and use at the beginning, or you could allow us to move more directions than just forward or back, or some of the obstacles could be something different than giving one item to one person. I think stuff like that would make it more interesting to play.

it is html/javascript+jquery...no engine used other.

The graphics are so mixed, i have used many different artists.yes,it could be more difficult! The riddles could be better

As others have said, I immediately loved the music. The backgrounds were also super detailed, especially as far as pixel art goes in a timeframe of just two weeks! Really liked the usage of selection options too. Well done!

Developer

thank you forplaying! The music is very good,it is by aleksandr zhelanov, an artist of opengameart.org

The world is completely weird (in a good way). I like scifi adventures, so that was fun to play your project. I am familiar with old games like Monkey Island, but I found the gameplay a little clumsy. It's hard to know what to do and when. Sometimes, moving to the edge of the screen will take to a new scene, sometimes not (after the green sick alien, if I move to the right I'm stuck). It is still possible to have fun walking around and talking to the characters however, but I didn't understand how to use the items, even with the Use button. Also walking is very slow, it could have been a little faster when you have to wander between scenes. Well those are normal issues in a Jam, I'm not saying it's bad! There are good ideas!

thank you for playing! yes, the movement could be faster (but it is not slower like in monkey island)....most of the items you must "give" to someone, only one or two you must "use". what i make for my next adventure--->a message when the player tries something wrong, yes, it is a little bit irritating, when you make something and you get no information about it

Developer

it is to used like monkey island or maniac mansion

Nice little game.

The controls are a bit clunky. I didn't know what to click first when giving things to others. Took me several tries each time, but as it is very clear who wants what, it just needed a little persistence to come through. Maybe a visual indication that a command is activated when pressing it would help?

I'm a bit of a noob in this style of game, if there was a tutorial it would help a lot.

But I liked the music, I would like to know which app was used to create the music

Developer

alexandr zhelanov made the music,i have this track from opengameart.org

The idea was pretty cool, but I struggled so hard playing I made no progress! The game could use some polishing and tutorials besides that the game is pretty decent

Developer

it is like the adventues of lucasfilm games. when you want to take something, click on "take" and then on the item. when you want to talk go to the man and click "talk". when you want to give, you need double-click. the game is easy to solve!

Ah ok, I will look back into it

welp I got a teddy bear too this time, but not much else

Developer

you must give the teddy-bear to someone

Submitted

I think I tried, but it is kinda hard to give things, so I never know if it actually tried it, or just didn't work

Developer

first click on "give" then on the teddy-bear. try it with double-click

I like the concept of the game. Music is nice and backgrounds looks cool. Was a bit hard to figure out what button to use and I just clicked all of them every time.

Developer

sometimes, for example for "give", you need double-click
