I got stuck when I went to talk with the Political Instructor. I couldn't figure out what to press or click to get out of this dialogue box. I couldn't exit the game without tabbing over to another window then closing it from my task bar, so I restarted by doing that. Then I died and my body kept on moving, which was funny. Seeing the dead body sliding along the ground in the running speed, haha.
Took me a minute to figure out crouch - there were no instructions like there was for pressing F to interact with the person and the transmitter. I pressed everything until I figure out it was ctrl (would be a good idea to have controls accessible somewhere on the screen to click for situations like this). Ran into a similar problem when doing the morse code - had no idea what to press until I trial-by-error'd it to be the space bar. Then I had some trouble figuring out how to get the dashes down correctly. Got the last half of the message out, saw everyone had been attacked, and then got stuck on the safe as I couldn't back out of it.
This has the basis for a really good game. I liked the gameplay a lot and it looked like there's a good base for a story too. Just need some instructions available on screen to know how to do things and a way to back out of actions. c:
A stealth game is a very ambitious thing to do in a jam! I'm really impressed that you took on such a big project, including a separate minigame, as well as that you wrangled an 11-person team. (Plus Soviet history is my jam.) But I think it illustrates the reason this is such a difficult thing to accomplish--these games rely on very precise physics and controls that were super hard to achieve. And this release has a lot of issues: There are physics and collider issues, the cutscenes don't play, the Morse code minigame never accepts dashes, when you die you can slide your corpse around on the map. I ended up getting stuck in a trench that there's no way to get out of.
But it's a solid game concept, and looking at the screencaps makes me wish I could play a full, working version! You should upload a bug fix.
Thank you for your detailed feedback!
You are right - the concept was really not easy to implement. However, our team is working on bug fixes and will soon be ready to release a new version of the game.
