Interacting with the barrel (with E) did not work for me. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards I fell into the water from a high above and got stuck on the ground of the cavern. The good news for the king is that he can obviously hold his breath longer than Guybrush. :)
I like that I finally get to be the king in an adventure, crown and all. Not just a boring knight.
I like your idea of having questions asked on the signs and then interacting with the barrel with the right answer - cool concept.
