The game is generally as tedious as the last time I played, having to manually move my character using the tactical movement system instead of normal wasd like any other game. I beat the slime and then struggled to figure out how to leave the forest. Turned out you had to be on the road which made no sense.
Story is dumb. Just cut the entire Intro Out and replace it by something simple and fast.
I know this is pretty much stock SRPG, but ending a turn really needs to be automatic when I moved every Unit. Battlescreen is way to big, Units should just be both visible all the Time, not having to move over so much. Tutorial is split into too many Battles, it could all be done in a single more interesting Map. Victory Position isn't marked in any kind of Way, I had to guess it was between the Torches only and not the entire right Side. Necromancer Map is way to big. Overall your Maps are also way to uninteresting for a Tactics Game.
Map is about sneaking Past, but theres 4 Chests, a Ton of XP, and I have 9 Healing Herbs and a Skill that oneshots Skeletons that Attack me with a decent Chance. Why would I ever sneak past anything there? Not to mention that sneaking isn't really a Thing anyway if every Enemy immediately knows where I am and moves in to intercept. Necromancer is pretty much unbeatable unless I'm fishing for Crits. So I just used up my healing Herbs to grind some XP on it, since I got 5 Long Healing Staffs in the Chests. Surely that means I must be getting a healer soon. At least I'm lvl 11 now.
Screen also is Tiny and doesn't allow resizing. Why?
Meeting Uriel is the first adequately sized map, but its still boring, empty and only has a bunny in it, which apparently is an Archangel.
Why do I always start forcefully in the top left? Is this an SRPG Maker thing? Why does Uriel have only 50 health but 9999 Melee uses? Doesn't matter either Way, Edgar is strong enough to just oneshot everything on attack or revenge at this Point, so I'm assuming Uriel is temporary with those Stats and just put all the XP in Edgar. Also I'm gaining all the Leafes back from Enemy drops, so thats nice.
You can't just copy paste the same Enemy with the same Drops 9 Times into the same Level. Even with using up all previous Leaves, I still got too many Leaves and Axes to keep in both of my Inventories combined.
Obviously after killing a Necromancer and hearing some Ancient talk Stuff about weird Names I need to talk to Grandma not the Archangel Bunny thats with me.
You can also have Cutscenes for purely Dialogue Stuff in a Tactics Game, you don't need to enforce a full Map for that where nothing is happening.
Forgot to clear out my full Inventory before the Map, so I guess hundreds of Cure Leafs will get tossed out.
Every Map plays out exactly the same, I spawn in the top left, clear out my Inventory to make room for more Drops, and then beeline it to the Objective. The Enemies just mindless walk straight towards me and get oneshot as I move along. They are also all way too big, I'm assuming to pad out Gametime at this Point.
Endfight was disappointing, as was the Rest of it all. And why name it Mecha Blade? I was expecting a Mecha Game, not a SRPG about a Bunny and a Guy with Axes. Also what kind of Person is he that he just casually goes to the Forest with 2 battle Axes? Seems like a wrong Choice of Sprite/Class.
SRPGs also run on tactical Options, but apart from the massive Forest Lines every Terrain is the same, theres no chokepoints, no Areas to protect, no varying EVA Terrains or anything. And I only get 2 Units, one is a melee guy with 2 Axes, one is a melee Bunny with 9999 Melee Attacks after which he probably becomes completely useless, since they both can't equip anything else. I get absolutely smothered in Items, Combat is extremely easy to the Point of me just ignoring it all together since Enemies kill themselves on me without me taking Damage, Maps are just super big so I have to walk endlessly, with a lot of them just being used for a single Cutscene or a single Enemy that goes down in 1 Hit.
