Gameplay wise this was pretty cool, but I kind of hated everything else. The filter you have on the graphics looks absolutely awful in motion. Furthermore the game definitely needs some sound effects. Is the character customization randomized at the start? If not it should be because on a short run game like this who the heck cares about customization.

I will give my pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Visuals look nice, you have a consistent and pleasant art style and the animations look good
  • Well thought out abilities, it gives a good bit of strategic thinking
  • Self explanatory, nice that you don't need a tutorial or steep learning curve
  • I like the map

Cons:

  • I think there are some bugs, such as your remaining energy not displaying correctly when using cards
  • I'm not sure how upgrades work, I upgraded a few cards but it didn't seem to do anything

Overall its pretty good, and feels polished.

Linux version.

  • Texture filtering makes it difficult to read card text when they’re diagonal in your hand.
  • Took me a bit to figure out I had to drag the cards onto the battlefield; I was trying to just click them and nothing was happening.
  • Hovering over an enemy and then winning the battle leaves the enemy info pop-up stuck onscreen until next battle begins and you hover over another enemy.
  • Card upgrades didn’t seem to actually do anything.
  • “Thanks for playing!” pop-up was jarring. Made worse that it appeared to be a signal to the OS to give that pop-up. Should be in-game.

I like the colors and the layout and the simple art style, but I’m really not a fan of that texture filtering. I liked being able to manipulate archers into shooting their teammates.

pretty hard game, i got about half way through the map until there were 3 enemies that aboslutely destroyed me

game would benefit from sounds but u know that already

i upgraded my cards but they didn't have higher values in the next match, maybe i didn't press the right buttons?

overall pretty good but could benefit from a few tweaks like more card variety and better way to counter range guys
