I'm going to do something insane and post feedback on my own art. So if anybody has any ideas on how to improve on these things / has opinions on how accurate it is, let me know.
background textures are too noisy and hard on the eyes. I need to figure out how to make good looking sprites for things like wood and stone that don't look way too noisy.
need to learn how to do lighting that isn't just "top left is brighter and bottom right is darker".
colors, how do they work? I think the artstyle I'm going for (muh SNES) needs more colors to make background sprites look good and less jarring. For example the water could use with some more colors.
I played your entire demo but I have not played the last one so I cannot tell you if the graphics have improved. Its rough, but the crabs are very cute. I kept having the feeling that this was somehow a game like frog fractions and suddenly things would turn crazy.

I recorded myself playing it.

Charming little thing. Definitely cooler to actually have a project for sprite work instead of just grinding on nothing.
Here’s some resources on spriting that might help you out:
Thanks for playing! I'll check those links out, thanks.

Thanks for playing! I know what you mean about the frog fractions thing, heh.
