Honestly kind of a dreadful experience, 1v1 Poker is boring enough, but against a computer, with half the buttons not doing anything? And I lose to Q2 with Q+Angel? I lose with Angel every time??

I could not find any Roguelike aspect in this game.

It was confusing, but that was because I only read the first page of the tutorial. Didn’t see the continuation arrow on the right. Anyways, I wasn’t folding at all and started getting angel cards. Seemed like I won everytime with them, so I bought angel chance fortune and chip stealing joker. Bought a mystery joker once, but it doesn’t reveal what it does in my hand, so I had no idea what it was doing.

Right now, I think the game needs a lot of work to improve visual communication. Pretty much +1 everything said in futurecreep’s post.

I go all in on promising pre-flops, “the pot has been discarded” (???) it gets me to -50 money then I lose?

I think what it could best use right now is animating things happenning sequentially and feedback on what’s happening. Text and animation. Show the name/value of hands, show the chip values being changed and what’s changing them. Even an RPG style “combat” log could do for now.

Also it tries talking to some cloudfront server.

Thank you for playing. It's mostly the engine doing that, but I'll take everything into consideration.  There is a Stats button for showing upgrades/downgrades, but maybe something more visual is needed.

Better tutorial is necessary, teach by example rather than wall of text. Except for the font visuals are coherent but not mind blowing.  I might be overly critical but it'd take a lot more work for me before I'd pick this up over Balatro.

Thank you for playing. I'm not really sure how to add a better tutorial without making a check forcing certain things for the first time playing. I guess I could do that. But yeah, Balatro has a lot more to it's gameplay, where this is trying to be it's own thing while taking inspiration. But I understand what you mean.

Thanks for playing. The enemy AI has a high tolerance for folding when it feels like it needs to. You can win hands normally, but the AI cannot be too spooked. I probably should edit some variables with it so it folds less. Thank you for the feedback.
