Welcome to the Alpha @S!F end of semester game jam! This jam is being run for the students of Digital & Interactive Games through South Metro TAFE. Use the knowledge and skills you have developed over the last two terms to create the best game you can in 72 hours or less.

You can view the previous Alpha @S!F jam here.

Themes

Submission made for the jam MUST include BOTH themes. You may interpret the themes however you want, but the connection must be clear.

1 - Possession
2 - Enlightenment

Rules

1. You can plan your game prior to the start of the jam, but actual construction of the game project cannot begin until the start of the jam. This means you cannot start building the game in a game engine, or creating any new content specifically for the jam.

2. All entries must be submitted by the indicated deadline.

3. No NSFW content allowed in any of the entries. Any entries  containing NSFW content will be removed.

4. Feel free to use any of the content or material you have created over the past semester.

5. 3rd party assets are allowed, but their authors will need to be attributed credit. (This includes audio, graphics, fonts, etc.)

6. Entries are not limited to just video games. Board games and other games may also be submitted - see the community forum post for the submission criteria of other types of games.

7. Video game entries must be playable on Windows.

8. There is no limit on team size. You can work on individual games, or as an entire class on a single game.

Guidelines

- Ensure you take care of yourself throughout the jam - get plenty of sleep, stay well fed and hydrated.

- Do not neglect your other commitments.

- Be respectful to other participants.

Advice

- Start planning your idea well before the jam starts, so that when it does start you can get straight to creating content and building the game.

- Try and really judge the scope of your game idea as best as you can. You should consider you have 72 hours from start to finish, the amount of members in your team, and the strengths and weaknesses of your team. The better you account for these elements of the jam in your game pitch, the more likely you are to have a more complete and polished entry.
