Track description | Creative process
I've never played a Metroid game before this jam, so i made 2 sketches just from looking at gameplay footage. I intended to do something more faithfull to the original game after playing it, but i decided i probably wouldn't be able to make it "authentic" enough, so i just took one of my sketches and tried to finish that instead.

The area i had in mind writing this, was a sort of water planet.
I tried to borrow some elements from the original soundtrack, but probably went in a different direction.

This was the first track i made after setting up my new system/switching daws from Cubase to Reaper, so all feedback is very much welcomed.

Thanks for listening!there

This is exactly the kind of environmental music I am just physically incapable of creating (which is why I did not submit anything). This would fit the game's theme well. I love how simple it is. Great song :)

This track definitely would fit in metroid! I really like that low sweeping synth, it really ties the track together and gives it that 'sci-fi' flavour. It works very well as a tense, ambient track. I feel like the vibe is a little more generic than ice level, or even water level as you mentioned in the description - I could easily imagine this track fitting in a lot of sci-fi looking settings. Overall a solid track

Not having read your description before listening, I totally think this would fit the background of a snowy planet area such as Phendrana Drifts! There are some warbly background synths and whale call-like synths that I can hear your intention for a water level, but otherwise I would believe this if it was playing over the snowy area! My favorite part is the low electronic swells - these immediately put me in the Metroid mindset and sell me on the tie to the Metroid Prime game. I really like how you were able to weave all the sounds together to create a very pleasant and cohesive ambient piece that would absolutely fit real gameplay well. Great work and thank you for sharing!

I guess its I wasn't clear enought in the jam page but even if you are doing a remake's track you are supposed to stick with the Phendrana Drift level. Anyway, I could still see this for some wintery level. More importantly it would totally match a Metroid Prime game. The balance of the piece is very close to what I heard from Kenji Yamamoto.

Oops, my bad. Will keep in mind for the next one!
