You need to use GameMaker Studio 2 (by YoYo Games).

I think you asking is Game Maker Studio 2D (by TerraPix),  which is not same thing and therefore you cannot use it. 

I used unity to create this 3D subway surfers type of game so because game maker is 2D supporter so it's your choice what you want
