First I didn't get the controls at all. It took me five or six times trying to escape the room not getting through the locked doors to the next level. Eventually I started running around in circles and thought this is quite good and evil if this is the point of the  game. But that's when I took the mouse in my other hand and realized I could shoot. Yeay!

It's a hard game but you get the hang of it. Quite addictive and I think the Game Boy aesthetics fit the formula. A nice entry to the jam.

The best part is the randomness of the levels. You always meet the same enemies for the first 3 rooms but the rooms and its power ups are different on each play through. I liked that. Good random.

This is such a delightful little game!! I feel like it does not so much explicitly touch on the subtopics of the Jam as others, but that doesnt take away from the fun at all! The color palette is really making me feel nostalgic <3

Completely agreeing with Huilandos, that the explosions of the bigger enemies are really hard to dodge because they are extremely fast - I think they killed more of my runs than every other enemy type combined!

I could also very well imagine an extra screen in the start menu, where you just explain really quickly what each type of power-up or enemy does - at least I feel like that would have really helped me in particular.

A fun little game! Loving the Game Boy aesthetic, brings back memories. I also enjoyed the different interesting power-ups you could find, like exploding cancer cells, that's definitely a one up from plain stat-increasing power-ups.

A bit of critique:
I think healing is bugged, as neither the "+" doors nor the "+1" doors seem to do anything.

The big dudes explosion is so quick that it seems impossible to dodge willingly.

Also, what do the stream doors do? Do they increase your movement speed?

Additionally to that, realized you could dash only after I found a power-up improving my dash :D

I think the above comments show that having a short tutorial explaining the different power ups and controls be ideal. Else, I feel that with more tweaking, it could become a very fun game. Good job!

Nice game!! Fun gameplay. It was hard but once I learned the attack patterns of the enemies it became a lot easier, also getting more max health helped. Agree with Liam on the level design. Would also like to throw in that different enemy design would be cool too, I found that I usually just run around in a big circle around the walls for every level and it worked. Anything to break that up would be interesting (haven't beaten it yet so there may already be something like that in there).

But the gameplay loop is there and it's good! Good luck on it in the future!

I enjoyed playing this! But it's pretty difficult, and I don't know what the "+" doors do (the ones with a + and nothing else under it). The powers are cool, it reminds me of the Binding of Isaac where you keep getting stronger and stronger.

I wish the level design had more variation, like walls to take cover behind or something. The sound design was good!

It's fun and I feel like it could be even better.

Thank you :)

The "+" is maybe the "DNA" i tried to make to symbolize the mutations, pixelart is not where i am the best

I first planned to have a little HUB where you can upgrade your character with ressources looted in the dungeon, but i didn't do it because of the lack of time ( i had max 3 day to work on the game, and i learn Godot just for it, usally i work on unity ), it's a game i feel like that i can continue working on but with the help of a pixel-artist

Damn, nice job working in a new engine! That makes it all the more impressive.
