Got to 140 seconds on the second attempt after getting comfortable with the controls.
Pretty funky little arena / music experience. It seems like you prioritized your time well, minus the lack of a web build.
I had a couple issues with the controls:
Otherwise I appreciated the effort to add gamepad support and the controls felt pretty good. I think the default zoom level is too close, perhaps.
I also had to make the following change to get the game working on a mac: https://gist.github.com/rparrett/6e1e6b76e3789aa5df4daa435c72e092
Since a link to the source code doesn't seem to be a part of the submission and I had to do some minor internet stalking to dig it up, I'll have to refrain from giving a rating.
I appreciate the input! I agree, the left thumbstick was not comfortable for sprinting. I'll perhaps switch it to the left bumper. And for sure, I need to figure out a way to represent any generic gamepad. Maybe a controller layout image to the title screen or something like that.
Sorry I couldn't get it running on mac :( I was running out of time and couldn't quite figure out how to build for it.
Again, thanks a lot!
I think this game has a lot of potential! Killing enemies and running around trying to survive felt fun, even with a fairly minimal level and presentation. The idea of hopping around a bunch of zombies on the dance floor is hilarious and awesome.
I felt like the mouse sensitivity was a bit low; I really had to pick up and move my mouse pretty far to swing around and face some of the enemies. Also, some kind of visual/auditory feedback when taking damage would be nice - I wasn’t quite sure if I was taking damage at all until I eventually died.
Thanks for the feedback! I plan on trying to make it a 'complete' mini game. So I will be sure to address those things!
I love that enemies actually have physics and you can push them around
