Nice game! I really appreciate that you made a whole intro cutscene and explain some of the backstory behind the game to start out! The music was fitting and added a nice atmospheric element to the game as well.

Even though you didn’t get a chance to implement them all, the idea of capturing life forms and getting them to work for you (or not!) is intriguing, and I think there’s good potential there.

One note about the beam - it was a little tricky to avoid damage from enemies whenever there were other items (like herbs) in my beam, since only one item gets beamed up at a time. It might be nice to either allow beaming multiple items at once, or just ensuring that the nearest item is the one selected, to make it more intuitive to fight off enemies that happen to be near other stuff.

Looks very nice, but I think I had similar issues to other commenters.

Hey! Thanks for playing and liking the game! I updated the readme to let people know ahead of time! Thanks for your feedback!

Looks interesting! I'm not sure if I'm missing something though - I collected some other items, but clicking anything in my inventory to "use" it doesn't seem to do anything besides removing it. Is there more to the gameplay?

Same here - I was intrigued, but clicking items just removed them and even if tried to use one of the 'consume n of x', it still seemingly did nothing.

Hi Thanks for playing.

Sorry yeah I had a lot of ideas but didn't end up executing on all the features described in some of the items. Only got herb items to actually do as they describe.

Got carried away with learning a lot of new things :)

I'm glad you liked what you saw!
