Awesome, thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the feedback!

I agree that there is lots of room for improvement, particularly for the controls. I just couldn’t find the motivation to move this beyond this “proof of concept” stage. But I have lots of ideas for this game, and maybe I’ll keep working on it.

Hi again! Thank you (again) for playing my game (again)!

Agreed, the link to side effects is a bit weak… I think the linked blocks moving in sync definitely counts as a side effect, but I only have one level with them.

And yea, I wish I had some more time to add the music. I had some ideas, but no time.

Haha, I’m glad you didn’t abandon your game tho… Side Vein Effect ended up being quite nice!

Awesome concept! Level 11 and 12 got rather tedious haha… But it was fun to solve the diverse puzzles created from a simple ruleset! Good game.

Thanks! Yeah the limited level number is mostly due to time limitations and my lack of level design skills lol. I did want to have a few more with the synced blocks, and especially some where the various mechanics are combined.

I’m getting a slight uncanny valley feel from this.

Ah! That might be cos the 3D is fake. It’s entirely image assets & tiles rendered in Blender. (Well there is the Z axis for layering but still, pretty fake). That simplified a lot of things (like combining the wall shapes, and having nice SSS) but it does come with limitations.

I suppose in theory it could be possible to render a 360-degree rotation animation and play it back to rotate the duck, but I just didn’t get to sprite animations.

maybe I’m secretly a duck

You’re already a secret pocket cat, how can you be both?

Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!

Yes, a level selector and progress persistence were definitely some things I would have added if I found more time. As for the animations, I’m quite happy with how the blocks move, but I agree that the cake animation would need a rework.

I was going to add a “jumping” animation from catapults (yes they’re supposed to be catapults lol), and add an animation to show the belt rotation. Also, yeah, I guess the movements do look a bit unnatural, as they’re more symbolic than physics-based. Perhaps something could be done about that with some experimentation and smarter movement paths.

I really appreciate your thoughts!

Cool concept, fun to click around. Lil bit confusing until I read the comments - inter-game persistence sounds dope, can’t wait to see how it’s gonna work. Good luck!

Lovely art and funky music!

Yeah that’s true… The original side effect idea was to do a few more levels with linked blocks like the last one… But when I ran out of time, most of the side effect theme got loaded into the story, which I didn’t manage to integrate too well with the rest of the gameplay.

The glitching cake is a known bug side effect of the hallucinations.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Kinda fun!

I got to 1066 kills without moving just by spawning geyzers at the origin lol

Awesome game! Very challenging (or maybe I’m just bad). A good reminder not to do drugs :)

(((sry for earier comment it was very badly phrased)))

Cool retro vibe!

For anyone playing, be sure to pay attention to how your movements are limited (look at the WASD icon at the bottom right). Took me a bit to figure it out.

Awesome genre combo, great execution, lovely graphics! (tiny nitpick feedback: pickup hitboxes could be bigger so you don't need to position the bot quite as precisely)

Super-cool game mechanic, quite a unique twist on the theme!

Bit repetitive, but still quite fun to blast stuff in space. Neat story, and awesome visuals!

Looks interesting! I'm not sure if I'm missing something though - I collected some other items, but clicking anything in my inventory to "use" it doesn't seem to do anything besides removing it. Is there more to the gameplay?

Beautiful! I love the emergence – there's only a couple of mechanics but they combine into so many different super-fun puzzles.

What an awesome tower defense game that's about more than just building a ton of towers. Great visuals, well thought-out mechanics, really fun to play!
