  • This is a really cool little concept, I could see it fitting on the arcade well. It does need a bit more work but it flows nice, looks good for the time-frame of the game jam. I would definitely consider not allowing the player to move while its charging at the start as its not clear that you start with 50% charge. Unless you balance scoring model around finishing the level with less initial charge which is also a good idea. I could see this coming together with a bit more work art on art, more levels and balance. I think you should keep working on this and show us the improved version. Momentum mechanics in platformers are really cool. I like what you're doing here, but some of the level design doesn't really align that well with this. It's a bit like having Sonic controls for a mario game haha. The start of level 1 was excellent though, bouncing over the bridges and moving quickly was fun, but the precise jumping afterwards less so. Still! Cool idea.

The sound effects are also a bit harsh as well, but there's some really easy tricks you can do in audacity to fix that stuff. Bitcrushing or using a lowpass filter will really warm up the audio.
