How does your game represent "Power"?
You must harness the powers of the universe to defend your planet! Absorb the energy in asteroid matter to power up your planetary defenses. Collect solar modules to harness the power of the sun and go the offensive! Could the power of citrus also play a role?

Awesome job with this game!

I loved the atmosphere. The ambient music accompanied it perfectly.

The main gameplay loop is intuitive. It was fun trying to track down and destroy the closest asteroid before it crashed into the planet. My favorite part was unlocking the rapid fire weapon to take out all asteroids in the vicinity. It really came in clutch as I was low on HP!

The story was well written and the sound effects are classic retro. Great fit for this style of game.

Great work! Looking forward to playing your next one.

Honestly pretty darn good. especially in its presentation (visuals/audio).

Just like another comment said, make the game ramp up faster (like give use the orange power-up in stage 3). That would enhance it for a game-jam. Projectiles are indeed quite small, but If I spam a little bit then I'll eventually hit with one of them.

Personally, I think it would be good if you could charge a shot, increasing its size.
And perhaps also a ray indicating the line of your shot, which slowly fades out the farther it goes (like make it almost invisible 1/2 the screen width or something). Just spitballing some concepts I got during play.

You should really think about updating the page with a few screenshots and/or a new thumbnail.
I think it would be a shame if people gloss over what you've made due to lack of eye-catchiness.

I tend to hover over games in the submissions after which I'm presented with the screenshots they have put on their page. those screenshots typically win me over to check them out.

Nicely made, hope more people notice this one too.

I just went back and added some gifs to liven up the page and better show off the game. Thanks!

And glad to hear you liked it :) love the ideas you shared too!

Super fun, but it builds up really slowly. I feel like for a jam game the pacing should be kept fast since there's not much content near the beginning.

The controls are fine, although it can be really annoyingly hard to aim properly, I feel like the game would literally be better with bigger bullets. The bullets being small makes it feels less like the game is challenging, and more like the player sucks.

Also great writing, it definitely kept me engaged (when I wasn't accidentally skipping it)

I appreciate the feedback! I knew it's difficult so intentionally made things start slowly, but you make a good point that it should ramp up quickly given its a game jam game. I could see how making it easier overall but then ramping up the levels faster could balance things out.

Thanks for trying it out :)
