Really cute character animations! Love the out-of-focus foreground layer and good choice of music as well. The scene transitions didn't really work well for me (probably cos I'm using a browser haha) but I would also recommend just focusing on one really good (and large if you'd like) level, especially for a jam. Having a short but beautiful and well-crafted level beats multiple scenes of repeated content any day. Good job on your first game, and I'm glad you had fun!
yes you’re absolutely right! I have a lot to learn about level design! I’m gonna try to learn more and make one good level for my next project. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Nice game, I liked exploring the hand-drawn environments. Though I was confused about the fuel, I thought I was supposed to deposit it into the spaceship but it doesn't really seem to matter. Plus, when I use the fuel for shooting, I usually end up not having any left for the spaceship anyway ><
Wait yeah, you do have to deposit the fuel in the spaceship, if the ending card appeared before that, it's probably a bug I need to fix, can you tell me what happened? like what made you think, you don't have to deposit the fuel in the spaceship?
The fuel I picked up was used up by shooting. The level change happened once there was no more fuel in the level, but I never had to go back to the spaceship. I'm sorry if I made it more confusing ><
ohhh I get it, the level changes (it’s more of a location change) just happens when you reach a certain place in the map (it’s my fault for not making that clear, sorry) and from the third level, you can come back to the first level to fill up the tank, again totally my fault. I’ll make the instructions/goal more clear in my subsequent projects. Thank you so much for the feedback!
I love the character animations and the boiling line effect. Did you do all the graphics yourself? Would you mind me asking which software you used for the animation? I'd love to do something like this myself.
I really liked the game in general. The music, animations, colour palette, exploration all create a nice atmosphere and it was nice just to relax and take it all in. Great job!
Thank you so much! I used Krita for the animations (It's free so you can get started today!) and I used Clip studio paint for the background :D
Thanks, man. I'll definitely have to check out Krita.
