I enjoyed the little diddy and the artstyle! I found the game to be really challenging! I honestly didn't manage to pass the first level.

One thing you might look into if you continue with the project is preventing the foods from spawning too close to the wall and corners, that makes them really difficult to get.

Overall good effort! A fun game but maybe a little too challenging at the start. but I did enjoy myself.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Someone gave me the idea of having the food periodically disappear and respawn in a new location which might fix that problem.

Interesting concept, even if I have to admit that I felt a lot of frustration haha

I like the art style, it reminded me of retro mobile games.

Thanks a lot :) Yeah I'm playing around with the idea of making this into a mobile game. It actually does work on mobile and supports touch input, but there's a lot more I need to do to optimize it for smaller screens.

I come here with a mental state between happiness and frustration. But yes addicting as hell. Hard at first but liked it.

Developer

XD thank you

It's addicting. Frustratingly so. Couldn't get past level 3. Pretty sure it's just me.... but I keep messing up in the same exact area most times, the bottom right corner. Very good game.

Thanks! No it's not just you - seems like quite a few people are getting stuck on level 3. I made the rookie mistake of not sending the game to other people for play testing during development. I'm usually terrible at games so I thought if I could make it through all the levels then most people would find it easy. I guess I got good at the mechanics while playing it over and over during development.

If it makes you feel better, I didn't send mine to anyone for testing either haha. I don't know how common that is in a jam setting when you're a solo dev like us!

Interesting mechanic, a bit hard to get used to  control the snake but entertaining

Dude, this game is awesome, the art and gameplay may be simplistic, but the gameplay is addicting and the music is a bop. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words. Glad you liked it.

Definitely harder than I thought it would be haha, but I like it! Had some issues playing from Brave Browser (restricts browser db access), but no issues from Edge.

Developer

Thank you :) Hopefully not too hard though? If I make a version 2 I'll probably add some more beginner levels to allow more time to get used to the controls.

Submitted(+1)

No not too hard probably just me :p A beginner level with some more room to adjust to the controls would be great

Ah, this is addicting. It was hard to control the snake at first but it got the hang of it a few minutes later.

Developer

Thanks! Going with the one-button control scheme meant I had to make some tradeoffs so there's a bit of a learning curve, but glad you were able to get the hang of it.
