A solid game. It was interesting shooting those platforms to set up the level for myself. Additionally, the game has good pixel art.

There are a few oddities with the game. There is no sound but that isn't a huge issue. It's a game jam after all. However, some of the platforming felt odd since I would need to sort of lift myself onto high platforms with the barrel of the gun. It felt rather unintuitive since the gun walks on its feat. Additionally, it's unfortunate that some of the obstacles are set up so that you can't really know how many times to shoot a platform before advancing. This results in shooting it, looking ahead, going back to adjust, and repeating this a lot. It was a little tedious.

Overall though, this is a pretty good game. Good job.

This games pretty well polished in it's mechanics and gameplay loop, especially for your first game jam.  Plus the concept has some interesting puzzle mechanics introduced just in the small amount of content in the game currently.  Some feedback specifically though:

  • The games gravity feels a bit too heavy, at least in relation to how high some of the platforms are in relation to each other.  Which makes a few of the jumps very sensitive to exactly where you are at when you attempt them.
  • Most of the mechanics of the game are explained pretty unobtrusively through ingame prompts and the level design.  Except for the mechanic where a platform disappears if it comes into contact with another platform.  Which lead to me wondering what happened on the first 40 platform.  I feel like maybe making it easier to see the blocking platform could help with this.  Either by changing the camera view or by changing the location and distance from the player of said platform.  The mechanic itself has a ton of potential tho.
  • As well the hitbox of the player seems to be a bit weird and a bit glitchy with how it interacts with the environment leading to some weird behavior on edges and jumping up edges.  Tho that's down to tweaking etc.

I liked that you play as a walking gun ;p one little feedback thing i can give is that it seems like you have to guess at first how many times you have to shoot the thing that expands, because you can't see the other side. This might be a game design problem because the player can not do it right in the first try. But overall good job on the game :)
