Really like this, the idea of the old map is fantastic, side-fire makes sense and ship controls nicely. Really good work!

Its not really noticeable, but when you have less health you go faster. I really wanted to do a game with this artstyle so wasn't paying so much attention to the theme :)

The style is there but the execution could be better :) 

I really like the usage of painting-esque images in games. The best example is Rock of Ages (1 & 2). Check them out if you haven't.

This game was really fun to play. I love the idea of using an old map for an art style. I can see this becoming a really cool boss rush game on the sea. One thing I might suggest is to allow the player to aim where they are shooting or allow them to shoot off either side of the ship. I found myself only going in one direction during the fights so this may allow you to make more interesting situations for the player.
