That was a very pleasant trip I kept wanting to wait lol
I waited, I realized I can move and I leave these strange peoples, took me long to realise that our character was changing color, does the color reflect his/her emotions ? That's how I understood it !
Yep, at least that's what I tried to portray :)
Hope you liked it!
Even tho i didn't fully get the moral of the story (i originally thought that the game was about going to fast in life, but it was not so i felt pretty confused) i really enjoyed the game and was really well done!! The only thing i would add is a prompt at the start that would say "Press D to move" because i tried to use W to move forward (thinking that it was a 3D game) and when it didn't worked i thought that i needed to just...
...Wait...
...So i waited...
...And waited...
...And then i got bored of waiting...
...And then, when i was resonating with the main character the most...
...I thought of closing the game...
...But then...
...I started pressing random keys until the player started moving xD
(Yes, this was some kind of personal revenge because I waited so long)
Ok, now to my ratings (i ike to explain why i'm giving the rating like i am, so i feel best to just write them, instead of sending a screenshot):
Hey Mary, thank you for that super detailed rating :)
Game controls were in the itch page; but I will be sure to put it in the game next time for sure.
When I was developing the game, I always thought whether someone would actually wait in the bottom after starting the game. Looks like you waited :) Made me giggle to be honest.
I won't even try to explain what I tried storywise since it is nothing special. This is my first story-like game so don't even try to search for a meaning. I can't write that kind of deep dialogue.
And again, thank you for the detailed rating and I hope you have a good trip in life :)
Have a good day!
Very polished game! I feel so relaxed after playing it
Oh thank you my dude. Glad you liked the trip :)
It was interesting to play. Great idea and good mechanics! Good job!
This game was cool! I really felt like I was in it! The dialogue was funny too! I also liked having choices in what I was saying.
The other players were clipping through the ground but besides that awesome job!
This is my first story like game with dialogues so I hope they weren't very cringey :)
Glad you liked your trip!
The cringey-ness of the game was the best part! I really liked that about the game! I was laughing at the responses and the people asking the questions! It was really good!
Wow, this is incredible! Very atmospheric and immersive - really well executed! You've done an awesome job to create this all in a week, and super polished, clean, and just everything good! Awesome work here! :D
Wow, what an introspective experience. Thank you for making this. Very very beautiful as well.
Even though it is just a walking sim, i was hooked from the start until the end! The subtle sound effects were a cool touch! I even got to make dialog choices, heck ya! Really cool game my guy! My only complaint is that i didnt know how to move at the start of the game.
Great little story driven adventure. Nice job creating all those character animations in a week. They're really good looking. Overall, really liked the feel and the theme.
Oh thank you for the kind comment :)
Just to be clear, I just got some animations from Mixamo and then used some IK scripts to look in certain directions. I didn't create them from scratch.
I liked the visuals, the water looked very nice, and the relation to the theme was interesting!
here is my rating, after seeing one or two posts, i figure out that the ratings were images, and not a special option that you can activate somewhere in the page lol...
i rated the music with one star because there is no music, only because of that...
now, the game is awesome :
* i really liked the chill and empty atmosphere that you achieved with your design, really well made.
* i liked the philosophical tone of the game.
* the dialog system is really clean and well designed.
* man, this game has potential to become a mind bending psychological adventure, like, if you put different endings and sequences based on the choices, that could lead to a game like the stanley parable, but in a snowy mountain.
i totally imagined aliens or a Cthulhu thing in the top of the mountain lol, or a brainwash experiment made by some corporation like umbrella, anyway, great game man!!! here is my rating
This was my first story like game, so I hope it wasn't super boring. I love all those games you mentioned.
I wish I could have add more interesting stuff but what can you do, it is a game jam :)
Thank you for kind words my dude!
you are welcome, i didn't make a story like game yet, they are hard to do, specially for the pacing....you can really make a great game if you continue working on this idea after the jam (or maybe yo planned to make this for the jam only, idk)
i have seen the games in your page , they look great, i will play them when the rating period is over
Nice concept for the theme
Here's what I rated the game, since you did the same for me. I loved the dialogue system, it had really good UI and writing. It reminded of A Short Hike a bit in the concept, even though the gameplays completely different.
I love that game! As you mentioned the gameplay is completely different on that though. That game is super charming and chill when I tried to create an uneasy environment as much as I can.
Glad you like it and thank you for your rating.
You mentioned you don't like anonymous reviews so I am happy to share my votes. I really loved the mood. I felt strangely intrigued as I climbed the mountain. Visually the game looks great. My favourite part was definitely the sounds!
That's perfect to hear! I am glad that you liked your trip :)
Wish I could have added a bit more emotion but what can you do? It is a game jam :)
Totally agree! I think the same with our submission. But for 1 weeks work this is really good. You should be really happy with the result :)
It was a good trip. It worth my time going to the top. I like this kind of psychology related game.
Oh, that's good to hear :)
This was my first story like game I have done; so I hope it wasn't super edgy.
