How does the game fit the theme?
Nothing is SUPPOSED to go wrong for a regular everyman . . . until a narrator appears to mess with the main character and then everything starts progressively going more wrong

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All of the assets for this game were made during the Jam, and all of them were made from scratch

Hammering bird houses is the best job ever. I'm either missing something, or the content is pretty limited. But what's there is intriguing, I especially like the swirling void of cosmic horror outside the floating house. 😅

There was supposed to be more . . . this was my teams (well, the rest of the teams, not mine) first Jam ever, believe it or not! So we ended up kinda overestimating the time-constraints, people started getting burned out in the end. But I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish for their first Jam, this game has potential, and we're planning on revisiting this game to include the stuff that was missing! ^_^

Also, the swirling void of cosmic horror outside is caused by the narrator. He IS the "cosmic horror" :3

I feel like that happens all the time with game jams. Getting anything playable and uploaded is already a huge achievement! And I agree that this has some great potential, looking forward to playing more!

I love the graphics. The player sprite in particular works really well with the hand drawn theme
