How does the game fit the theme?
The game plays on irony—while the title suggests everything will go smoothly, the dog's relentless "help" makes things progressively worse. The loyal yet clueless canine constantly disrupts the player's progress, turning simple tasks into chaotic challenges. Despite its good intentions, the dog's actions—stealing the fishing rod, running off with caught fish, and blocking paths—ultimately lead to failure.
In the final boss level inside a dungeon, just as the boss is at low health, the dog steals your bow, leaving you defenseless and sealing your fate, driving home the theme through comedic misfortune.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All assets, except for the dog, were sourced from online resources. All code was developed in-house.

Really nice game. The front art is deceptive ;P I noticed some screen tearing and the 'dead' bones did damage. Otherwise, lovely game. If you continue to develop, try having the bow track the mousePos for visual appeal.
" except for the dog" ... good, because that dog was cute! We channeled some "good boy" energy in our game which also features a lead dog haha. :D
Cute dog but most of the visuals didn't seem to fit together well or were different resolutions. Audio was very loud. Couldn't figure out what to do after cutting the tree down with the axe and gathering all the sticks I could find. Did enjoy trying to figure stuff out though.
There is a hidden path due south, right after cutting down the tree!
Very fun to kill skeletons with the bow. I didn't get to use the axe... good job.
Neat Idea, cute dog!
Nice mechanics ! Fun to play.
I will protect my puppy at any cost!!!! Fun game, just needs more variaty
Nice art style
The graphics of the game was pretty cool (although some were more pixaleted than others). An explanation of the controls would've been quite good and also some polish on the animations and the whole atmossphere would also be really good.
I like the graphics! Some explanation of the controls would have been nice, I had no clue how to pick up the axe :(
Really enjoyed it!! Feel free to rate my game too: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3347702
Did you accidently upload version without sound or is it supposed to be like that?
Cool graphics! I found the axe but I'm not able to pick it up :(
