In what way does your game fit the theme?
It is about rewinding VHS tapes.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code myself and made my terrible assets from scratch.

It is a nice idea but I feel like the game was really rushed. The tapes spawned to quickly and knocked out the VHS from the rewinders :/ making micromanagement useless.
I dont want to sound overly negative :/ its a nice concept.
Haha no problem. I'll take all the criticism you're willing to offer. And yeah, it is super rushed. It was my first game jam and it took me awhile to think of a concept to begin with. It took most of my time to get the core gameplay loop up and running and fixing any major game-breaking issues. As such, I didn't have too much time to balance the gameplay as time continues. I wanted it to get progressively harder as time goes on, so I kind of played it by ear and I'm sure it didn't come out as intended. If I had more time, I definitely would have committed more time to playtesting and balancing the game so the overall experience is more enjoyable. I'm actually thinking about maybe continuing work on it to get it closer to how I originally intended.
Anyways, that's my explanation. Thanks for the feedback! I learned a lot and hopefully my next game will be much better :)
Nice idea, I think there is a lot of room for improvement on the UI design since it's basically a tycoon like game where you expand your VHS business and buy rewinders/upgrades etc. and that weights a lot for the users since they're going to be pressing the buttons all the time. I would have like not to have collision with the other tapes, sometimes they would hit my rewinders and remove the tape and also I see no reason for the opening of cases to be in the game since I pressed spacebar on all of them without anything bad happening so I would always open them. So either cut the feature or punish the player for doing that all the time, maybe they get dusted and rewind slower the longer you had them open. Well done on submitting your game and hope you learned a lot during the jam!
Hey, thanks for taking the time to give me some feedback. I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to sit down and work on the game (my job and life tends to get in the way), so it's definitely not at the level I initially envisioned. I also did not have a ton of time to playtest or balance the game, so I kind of just guesstimated haha. But I guess that's the point of having one week to develop it. It definitely made me realize where I need to spend more time on the next jam.
