I am just wondering if no likes 2D platformers anymore. I guess my eternal love for the games that got me into playing in the first place like Mario and Donkey Kong have blinded me lol I just thought 2D platformers would always be "in vogue." In fact, I was afraid when we decided to go with a 2D platformer style game for the jam that it would get lost in a sea of other 2D platformers, but to our surprise... there aren't many (that we've seen). Very surprised by all the 3D and top down shooters, dungeon crawls etc. Have you played any 2D platformer jam games that you've enjoyed? We'd love to check them out.

We had so much fun making our game that we were considering putting our "real" game (which is 3D) on the back burner and making a 2D platformer first. But..... does anyone even like/play them anymore? Is there a market for 2D platformers???
