How does you game fit the theme?
The rules of the game are changing with each level - meaning the mechanics/rules are not real.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, I made everything my self (code, art, design) except the sound effects (excluding music). A team of 1 :)

Haha you shouldn't rate then should you? :D :D Thanks for playing though! :)

I loved the way you implemented the theme

For some reason I couldn't see the full screen on a single monitor, but other than that I had a great time

Thank you very much for playing it and reviewing. Sorry about the technical difficulties, hope you were still able to enjoy the game!

I like the graphics and the audio. looks and feels nice. The game design ideas are nice.

Some things would need a bit of polish in my opinion: In level 1 I was spotted through the wall; Sometimes the jump did not work. don't know excactly why.

Sadly I could not figure out how to get to the exit in level 2 but would have liked to try level 3. Maybe unlock all levels for a jam.

Congrats on your game and good luck!

Thank you very much for the review and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The spotting through the wall was done on purpose, since level 1 doesn't really have a lot of challenges (but I also wanted it to be easier)
Level 2 and 3 is when the puzzle component really kicks in,  so you need a couple of playthroughs to figure out the puzzle,

The jumping but has been in the game for a long time. I've fixed 90% of the problematic areas, I'm sad to hear it's still there. Usually it helps to walk on a different platform then returning.

Definitely good point for all levels to be unlocked for a game jam!

Thanks again :)

I couldn't play the game on my 5:4 ratio monitor sadly. The edges won't be visible on screen.
*WebGL build is playable in smaller size, so it works, but I don't want to rate the game based on this. I'm so sorry bucky! :/

Developer(+1)

Don't worry about it Tronimal, you've helped me enough. Scoring is secondary to me, had a fun time making the game and meeting new people along the way! Hopefully it was playable enough in the WebGL version for you that you could enjoy it at least a bit :)

I didn't play it very long,  because I was livestreaming voting and cc and wanted to move on.
I will look back into it for sure, maybe offstream though. :)

Bugs!

When i try to open a level game crashes and opens again!.      my specs are "High End"

Hmm, that's weird, I had quite a few people test it and it worked everywhere.

If you'd still like to try the game I've managed to do  a working browser build: https://buckyside.itch.io/lights-path-webgl

Would you be wiling to provide me with a video recording of the event so that I can try to figure out what went wrong?
Thanks for the report though!
