How does you game fit the theme?
Maxwell's demon is about a thought experiment (not a real experiment) about a hypothetical demon that could annul the effect of entropy.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes. All.

Played on stream at https://twitch.tv/hedgein ! I was kinda confused by the mechanics of it but it was pretty cool!

Thank you very muuuch. I will definately adding a guide to indicator where the balls should go. XD

I am glad to see the attention the Maxwell's demons got. I will be exploring the main idea here. Please follow to be updated on the newer versions!

Super clever premise--a lot of people probably won't get this, but that's their loss. I thought the mechanics were clever too, and suitably difficult. Just could have used some sound, but that's an okay thing to cut for time.

Developer

thank you for the feedback. I am testing for alternative mechanics. I will hopefully update after the jam ends.

I liked the idea, but I think the physics on the balls was a bit too sporadic and the balls that changed colour changed a bit too often for it to matter where you placed them (I think I won the second level by accident?). Also the resolution was too big for my screen meaning the text at the top cut off (my monitor isn't particularly small). Unfortunately, it crashed after the fourth level :(

thank you fort the feedback. I made only 4 levels. I forgot to return to mainmenu after that.

I will fix these issues after the jam is over.

Tested it. It was a bit too hard I think and balls are a bit too unpredictable.

Developer

noted. thank you

The random motion plus the random temperature made winning the game seem completely random and independent of the player. Plus the inability to completely close the door was frustrating. The game was smooth though. Should have had an entropy meter at the top. :)

Developer

entropy meter. thats a good idea. thank you for playin

I didn't understand the blinking mechanic.

Developer

the color is dependent on the actual speed of the particle. Blinking is active in only level 2 and 4. I should have a tutorial.

Fun game! There was a couple times though that I would just sorta move the paddle around randomly and then I'd beat the level, so maybe less randomness in the balls could be nice so there's more skill involved.

Developer

Indeed. I wanted to make it easy in the early levels but this might have been too easy XD

Developer

Thank you!

I completed 3 levels, and I'm not sure if it was because I'm good at that or my experiment just worked randomly :D Cool concept, but I'd prefer the movement of the balls was a bit more predictable.

Developer

Maybe you are a good demon :P
Your advise noted. Thank you.
